Silverlake...

Mark took Bronwyn camping last weekend. They had a great time. I will let Mark tell you about it....

Bronwyn and I decided to have ourselves a Daddy-Daughter camping weekend. We left first thing Friday morning and traffic was a breeze. The only hard part of the journey was enduring Bronwyn's constant "Are we there yet?" mantras. Oh yah, and a dented hood on the car when someone backed into us at the first campground we went to, which was full. Turns out it was a busy weekend to go camping. We drove to the next campground, which was also full. But as luck would have it but we bumped into Aunty Trini and Uncle Lorne, who had just taken the last camping spot. It was an amazing coincidence and so Bronwyn and I invited ourselves to stay at their campsite for the weekend. We camped at a place called Silver Lake, which is about 2 and half hours outside Vancouver, not far from Harrison Lake.

Overall it was a fantastic weekend. Bronwyn and I went on a beautiful hike and a kayak trip around the lake with her on my lap. We did a lot of rock throwing and skipping down at the lake. The one thing that impressed Bronwyn the most (and she could not stop talking about) was an eerie "witche's" cabin that we found nestled in the trees and deep in the woods . It was an old log cabin probably built around 50 years ago. We found it quite by accident on one of our adventures. It most definitely had an odd energy about it. Bronwyn and I both felt it. But it was pretty interesting.

The last time Bronwyn went camping was when she was only 3, so on this trip she was a bit older and could do so much more. When I said that she could stay up as late as she wanted, she took me up on my offer, no wait, and took it as a challenge . She stayed up until 9:30 the first night and 10:15 the second night ( I think 10:15 is a new record for her). We had a marvellous time, and the best thing is we get to do it all over again when we all go again soon as a family. Looking forward to it.

Here's a couple more pictures.
